SUMMARY:Toddler Storytime at Connie Morella Library
DESCRIPTION:Get up and get moving at storytime! These 20-30-minute programs are full of a diverse collection of books\, songs and fun activities. They are designed to introduce your child to the culture of reading and help develop your child’s language skills. Children are encouraged to engage with the stories and activities\, and their grownups are encouraged to participate in the program along with children.  ​ \nSpace is limited! FREE tickets are available on a first come\, first served basis at the Information desk beginning 30 minutes before the program. Toddler Storytime occurs at 10:30 and 11:15.

DESCRIPTION:Cover to Cover is a NEW monthly reading\, discussion & activity group for students in grades 2-3. This month we’ll discuss “Lola’s First Day of the Dead” by Keka Novales. \n\n\n\n\n\n\nLola Lopes Cruz has always lived in Texas. But one year\, while preparing for Halloween\, she learns about the holiday celebrated by her mother when she was a girl in Guatemala: the Day of the Dead. Find out how Lola manages to balance two different cultural traditions in “Lola’s First Day of the Dead” from the “Hola\, Lola!” series by Keka Novales. For this session\, we will also have crafts available for both of these October 31-November 1 celebrations. \nYou can borrow a copy of “Lola’s First Day of the Dead” by Keka Novales–along with a specially prepared reading guide for our group–from the Connie Morella Library; just ask at either the Circulation Desk or Information Desk for the book for the October meeting of Cover to Cover!
