Agency 9
PDC Confuzion is a hip hop dance company under the direction of CJ Hitchcock based out of Agency 9 in Clinton, MD. The company consists of dancers from throughout the Washington, D.C., Maryland, and Virginia area that train in all styles of dance and various forms of hip hop. The dance company was established in August of 2003 and includes dancers from ages 8 through 20. Many of their talented dancers have performed throughout North America and overseas.


Bethany Disque, Choreographer
Bethany Disque’s art evolves through personal experiences and improvisation. She is drawn to the communication and emotional connection between people using unison, shapes, abstract images, partnering and taking the body somewhere it may not have been before. Bethany graduated from the University of Maryland in 2013 with a Bachelor of Arts in Dance and choreographed If only I knew in Spring 2013. Her dance was performed at the Maryland Dance Ensemble in April 2013 and was also selected for the 31st Annual Choreographers’ Showcase. Additionally, Bethany has performed in Graham Brown's You, and was recently an understudy in Susan Marshall’s Fields of View. Bethany is currently working with the PEARSONWIDRIG DANCE THEATRE.



 
Christopher K. Morgan & Artists
Christopher K. Morgan & Artists (CKM&A) is a professional contemporary dance company founded in July 2011, as a vehicle for Morgan’s choreographic exploration of social and cultural issues. In residence at American Dance Institute in Rockville, MD, and The Alden in McLean, VA, the company provides a creative outlet for its artists through virtuosic and expressive dance performances that give audiences an opportunity for self-reflection. CKM&A works to demystify contemporary dance through community dialogue and online video content. The company also provides professional and pre-professional educational opportunities and facilitation to professional artists.



 
Company Danzante
Company Danzante, based in Northern Virginia, presents contemporary dance by seasoned and emerging choreographers while aiming to promote the contemporary dance genre through artistic collaborations, captivating presentations, and educational programs. Founding directors, Katherine Horrigan and Arturo Garcia, have settled in the region following international performing careers with Tania Perez-Salas Compañia de Danza, Elisa Monte Dance, Ailey II and guest appearances with Les Grand Ballet du Canadians, Jessica Lang Dance, Nathan Trice/Rituals, and The Francesca Harper Project.


 
Company E

Company E is a contemporary repertory dance company based in Washington, D.C., but makes its home all around the world, focusing on international collaborations. Founded in 2011, the company is deeply committed to finding the finest repertory and emphasizes the next generation of brilliant and innovative choreography and dancers. Company E focuses on artistry and the power of art to bring awareness, enjoyment, and inspiration to artists and audiences worldwide, as well as back home to the diverse dance community in D.C. 


 
Nomad Dancers

Nomad Dancers is a collective, created in December 2008, inspired by traditions of India, Persia, Central Asia, Middle East, and Turkey, traveling across borders and bridging cultures in search of the ultimate dance experience. The Nomad Dancers proudly present Persian, Afghan, Tajik, Azeri, Uzbek, Uighur, and Ottoman Turkish traditional folkloric dances, as well as Bollywood and Fusion choreographies, at cultural events, celebrations and festivals in the Greater Washington, D.C. area. The individual Nomad Dancers' fascination and interests in the graceful, playful, colorful, and rich dance traditions from across this vast region, coupled with the dancers' myriad experiences and talents, have inspired a varied repertoire of dances and glorious costumes. 

Word Dance Theater
Born out of the world of modern dance, Word Dance Theater is a progressive performing arts company based in Washington, DC. Inspired by the artistic philosophy of Isadora Duncan, the founder of Modern Dance, Word Dance Theater pushes the artistic boundaries of theater, dance, and music to create dynamic cross-disciplinary theatrical performances that celebrate the essence of the human spirit. Word Dance Theater was founded in 2001.
