Hip-Hop Master Classes
with Jamile "Jamz" McGee

Hip-Hop for Youth (ages 10 - 18) - 12:30-2pm
*Because the adult class is full, teenagers under the age of 18 should register for the youth class.


Hip-Hop for Adults - 2:30-4pm

*Closed- full to capacity

Registration and Fees:
Dance Bethesda master classes are $25. Pre-registration can be done online or by returning a completed form and payment to the Bethesda Arts & Entertainment District. Day of registration will be accepted on a space-available basis. Checks should be made payable to the Bethesda A&E District. All fees are non-refundable. Each class is limited to 30 students.

*Online registration will close at 11:59pm on Friday, March 7. Teens ages 10-18 can register at Joy of Motion before the class starts on Saturday, March 8. For information on Saturday, please call 301/672-4026.

About Jamile "Jamz" McGee:
Jamile “Jamz” McGee started dancing at the age of four. Now, at age 21, Jamile is known for his vibrant breaking, popping, locking, and hip-hop dance techniques. Jamile was a dance major at Wright State University where he excelled in ballet, modern, and lyrical. He has performed at colleges and universities, concerts, and special events throughout the country.

Jamile taught his first master class at age 16 at the Peabody Conservatory for Dance. Since then, he has taught hip-hop dance to students of all ages. In 2006, Jamile was featured on the Fox TV show, “So You Think You Can Dance?” and continues to perform on the show’s world tour.

Jamile has choreographed and danced for several projects including Chris Brown’s Gimme That video; Rihanna’s S.O.S. video; Nelly Furtado’s Maneater video; a Pepsi commercial featuring Mariah Carey; Beyonce’s 2007 MTV Video Music Awards performance and her Get Me Bodied video.

Joy of Motion Dance Center is now located at the intersection of Wisconsin Avenue and Waverly Street. Free parking can be found in the Waverly Street garage at the corner of Waverly Street and Montgomery Avenue.
